Very transparent with clients

September 4th, 2010

As usual, when I visited one of my clients for our monthly meet up and financial reporting, there were some things that I was asked to help on. For one, they want to expand their investment portfolio. That’s easy since it’s my forte. They also asked me regarding Symantec support which is where I was not an expert on.

I told them to go to Consonus.com which is a web site where they can find out more about the services being offered by the company regarding IT support, specifically Consonus Customer Care and Symantec Support.

I always tell my clients if I don’t know a certain specialization they are asking me about. I don’t pretend to know something I don’t even have an inkling of. It’s better to be transparent with them and it’s brought me this far already I don’t have any plans of changing that.

Family vacation in Branson

September 2nd, 2010

Are you also looking for Branson vacation packages?

Will has been working so hard the past two years. When his son talked to him the other night about not seeing him enough, he suddenly realized how focused he was at work that he has been neglecting his family already. His wife is not complaining. She’s been really supportive from the start. But a seven-year-old kid won’t be as understanding no matter how hard he tries to explain to him things.

So Will was busy for the most part of the night looking into Branson vacation packages. He already told his boss about going on a two-week leave. He will be spending it on a Branson, Missouri vacation with his wife and son.

Branson is knownfor its famous attrlacactions. It is a place meant for the whole family. Will is checking the Family Package worth $824 that includes 4 days/3 nights presidential condo as well as tickets for 2 adults and 2 kids to the Haygoods, Ride the Ducks and Hamner Barber Variety Show. He is sure he and his family will love it!

You might be looking for vacation packages as well. Go to BransonGetaways.com now and check out the packages they have.

I want one, too!

September 2nd, 2010

My brother just bought a Canon camera and I must admit that I am envious! I want one, too! When you see his camera, you will feel like a good photographer! Ha! Ha! Ha! Of course, it’s just a feeling and it’s still up to you how your photos will come out.

Anyway, I have a two-year old digicam. It’s already malfunctioning at times, especially the batteries. I keep on making sure I borrowed my mom’s digicam, too, whenever we go out or I would find myself without a camera when I needed one. So I think this is enough reason for me to buy the same Canon camera my brother got.

What do you think?

The best online school

September 2nd, 2010

The Best Online Schools. That’s what I am looking for. Not for me but for my cousin Brenda. She has a disability and she can’t go to an actual campus because she can’t walk. Sure, she has a wheelchair but she finds it really hard to navigate anywhere without the help of someone. Since she didn’t want to become a liability to so many people, she is opting to go get her degree from a reputable online school instead.

And as her cousin, I want her to get the best. I am looking for an online school now. Brenda wants to get a degree in business. She already has a business venture in mind. But she wants to make sure that she has a degree that she can hold on to and the best knowledge on business that she can get.

Safety on the road

August 22nd, 2010

Accidents happen when you least expect it. Most especially when you are on the road. We are all aware of that. When I heard that my cousin Tina will be going on a trip just using her SUV, I called her up right away and reminded her to bring her car first to a Dallas auto repair shop near her. She lives in Dallas with her parents and she’s a carefree person. I am just reminding her to have her car checked first before embarking on a long journey.

The family also has Chevrolet Silverado but my uncle uses it. Their cars are regularly checked for any engine trouble. But I also reminded Tina about the brake job that we talked about a month ago. I reminded her that brake should be checked more importantly before going on a road trip. I am sure she doesn’t want to find her car careening out of control because the brake was broken or something.

By the way, Tina’s family found a Dallas repair shop near them through RepairPal.com, a web site where they take the mystery out of auto repair. The site can give you an estimate of the repair job your car needs. That way, you know if the car repair shop you will go to is giving you a fair price of the repairs to be made. You can find a repair shop at the site, get car information and even track your service there. In short, everything you need to know about cars and car repairs can be found at the site. Go to RepairPal.com now.

Help on insurance

August 20th, 2010

I have a couple of small clients who ask my help regarding insurance. There’s life, health, mortgage and car insurance. I got three requests for help to get car insurance quotes. Since I know where to go to online, it’s easy for me to help them find the best insurance plan that suits their needs.

I always go the extra mile for my clients. It’s value-added service, if you ask me. Some little tasks they ask of me I don’t charge them with anymore. That includes getting insurance quotes for them.

Our own pond

August 14th, 2010

I had a pond made for our garden. My daughter requested it. We went to my cousin’s house a couple of weeks ago and they have a pond at home. She hadn’t stop nagging me about the pond since then. So I figured I might as well give in to her demand because I, too, would like to have a pond.

I asked my brother to buy all the materials needed. Our gardener made the pond himself. I then ordered pond plants for it and a few Koi fishes. It’s now the main attraction in our garden. My daughter and I love it! We spend tea time in front of it these days.

Go-to gift idea

July 24th, 2010

Raffy’s go-to gift idea has always been watches. He told me that it’s the safest piece of gift that one can give to a love one or even to a casual friend. So when Raffy is in a hurry and he doesn’t have enough time to shop, he goes to his ever reliable watch store online. The last he bought for an office co-worker? An IWC watch! Very lovely!

I ribbed him about getting me a watch on my birthday, too. I would like one of those watches!

Good working relationship

July 12th, 2010

I try to maintain a good working relationship with every one I deal or have dealt with. I always keep in mind that I may encounter them again in the future so I want to be able to give them a good memory of me.

One good example is the office furniture vendor I dealt with several years ago. I was the consultant of a start-up company back then and I helped them get the office furniture for their newly opened office. Now, my cousin is opening a publishing company and he asked me if I know a vendor where he can get his office furniture. I called up the vendor and they remembered me. Since I am a repeat customer of sorts, they gave me a 10% discount on the orders my cousin made through me.

Now that’s a good working relationship with a vendor!

Unsolicited quote

July 12th, 2010

I got an unsolicited life insurance quote from an agent I contacted about a year ago. It was a good quote and I immediately asked around if someone needs life insurance. I found out that one of the big bosses from a client company of mine needed one and I gave her the life insurance quote that I got.

I got a call from the agent thanking me because the big boss I gave the quote to actually got her whole family separate life insurance coverages. The agent met his quota for the rest of the year!
