Basic know-how
I care about my clients. That’s why I make sure they fully understand the financial reports that I furnish them. I don’t want them looking at the bottomline only. I want them to truly look at the numbers and know what they represent.
For some of my clients I recommend getting Online accounting degrees. Those clients are the ones who are more concerned with the state of finances of their companies. I tell them that if they really want to delve deeper into the finances, it’s good to have a basic know-how of accounting.
Two clients who took my advice are now acting as CEO and CFO of their companies. Dual roles that they can perform easily because they already know accounting really well.
Oh men!
The men in the family have this tradition where they spend a weekend in a gold course outside the city and celebrate pre-Christmas there. They already did it last weekend and came home smiling like old silly folks! My mom and I were laughing at my dad and my brother. Dad said that they smoked chocolate cigars after dinner and they all loved it!
I told the women in the family that we should also do the same thing, create a tradition where we will spend time at a spa resort before Christmas as well. It will be a good tradition to start.
Chilled to the bones
It will be my godson’s first time to travel to a country where there’s snow. He is so excited about it and the teenage boy seems like a little kid about to go to the Chocolate Factory! He can’t contain his excitement over their family’s trip abroad. As a gift, I will give him down jackets at RockyMountainTrail.com. I know he needs jackets that will surely stop him getting chilled to the bones. He needs it or he will catch colds.
I remember my own travels and my first time to experience snow. It was one of a kind and I know my godson will enjoy his stay abroad. I told him to send a picture of him with a snowman. I know he will.
Quality time with the family
I always tell my friends that quantity doesn’t always translate to quality. We can have all the time in the world spent with our family but if we are just physically with them but our minds are in different places, then it still can’t be called time spent with them. We can spend two or three hours a day with the family over meals and really get to talk to them. Now that’s quality time!
It made me happy to hear from a friend whom I haven’t seen in so long. She and her husband were in the area getting a motor home repair when they dropped by for some chit chat with me. I learned that their family was in a sabbatical of sorts for the past year and all because I mentioned to my friend how good it would be to spend a year with the family not worrying about work or anything else but just being with them and getting to know each family member more.
I wish our family can go on a ‘sabbatical’ of our own. Can you imagine now work for a year? Bliss!
What to wear?
The Rehearsal Dinner Invitations were already sent out and me and my other female cousins are already busy choosing what to wear. I will be part of the wedding entourage and since in our family it’s common that relatives act as part of the entourage, my female cousins and I are talking to one another so we can coordinate what we will wear.
A cousin who’s been a widow for a long time will be getting married. She has no child of her own and was only married for a year when her husband was killed while on duty. He’s a soldier. She’s been grieving for him for years and since she’s still young, we were so happy when she announced that she’s ready to move on and give love a second chance. That was a year ago and now we are busy preparing for the coming nuptials. We are all beside ourselves with happiness!
Tres Marias
I need to find christmas gifts for her. And by her I am referring to my three cousins who are actually triplets! They are in their teens and I am finding it hard to think of what to give them this coming Christmas. Good thing there are gift ideas that I found online.
I feel like I am getting old. It’s becoming harder and harder for me to relate to this generation. But I am trying and thank you to the world wide web for making it possible for me.
I just wish what I will get for the tres marias of the family will be the stuff they like.
