More fruits, less meat.

fruits

From now on it will be more fruits for me and my family and less meat. Fish and veggies will become staple in lunch and dinner while it will be a cup of oats for breakfast for me. The rest of the family can actually eat what they want but since they want to support me in my quest for fitness and health, they will impose the same rules I am imposing on myself to them.

I am hoping I will be able to survive as I am first and foremost a meat lover :(

But I can do this! I know I can.

Thankful

hotel room

I had a really good night yesterday. I was able to sleep well and recharge for another work week. These are the things that I am thankful for. The little things. The simple things in life. Being able to spend time with the family. Being able to spend time for myself. I am thankful that I get to get enough sleep from time to time.

I am thankful.

Two days of fun and sun

strolling

I am going to a place where the sun is shining and I can stroll around. I need it to clear my mind and just unwind.

May you all have a fun weekend, too!

Nothing but cookies

cookies

I’ve been eating nothing but cookies since the start of this year. Why? That instead of the heavier rice. I’m limiting myself to five cookies a meal, lunch and dinner. And water. More water than any other type of liquid. Less sweets for me. The cookies I bought are those less sugar.

I wish I can stay strong and not give in to temptation.

Frustrated parent

I know how frustrating it can be for a parent to find themselves unable to finance a simple medical check-up for their child(ren). I’ve seen my parents experience the same. I’ve seen parents I know experience it.

Last night, one of my uncles came to my dad to ask for assistance. My cousin has a very high fever and they suspect that he has dengue. My dad asked my uncle what they were waiting for when they should already be bringing my cousin to the hospital. That’s when my uncle, teary-eyed, told my dad to talk to me so he could borrow cash for the check-up.

I thought my heart would explode from pity. I know my uncle. He wouldn’t just ask for help if he really doesn’t need it. And I know how much it cost him to ask for help from me. A parent will do everything for their child even if it means they have to swallow their pride.
