Elderly care

April 26th, 2008

I saw my parents talking seriously about something yesterday morning. I was curious as to what they were talking about, my mom teary-eyed and all. I shamelessly eavesdropped. I heard my dad showing my mom listings of nursing homes. They were talking about growing old and becoming an invalid. They want to be able to know a very good nursing home and make sure it will be able to take care of them if and when the time comes they cannot take care of each other already. I heard my dad say that it will be unfair to me or my brother if they will impose upon our generosity if that time comes.

I cried without knowing it. I just love my parents so much. They are extremely good to me and my brother. They have, time and again, shown how much they love us and would do everything to make sure we are happy.

I have to talk to my brother about this. We need to assure them that if and when the time comes they become invalid or one of them does, we will take care of them, no questions asked.
