Home treatment for sore throat
I have a sore throat. I easily get one, even when I was a kid. Anyway, I will share with you some tips I know to get rid of sore throat.
- Gargle with warm salt water to help reduce swelling and relieve discomfort:
- To prevent dehydration, I drink lots of water. I also drink tea (or you can try soup for those who want some comfort food).
- Use a vaporizer in your bedroom.
- If you are a smoker, quit until you get rid of the throat irritation. If you are not, avoid secondhand smoke.
- Consider taking nonprescription medicine for your symptoms.
- And avoid talking yourself hoarse. Rest your throat even for a while.
- What I do is, I gargle every hour with 1 tsp of salt dissolved in 8 fl oz of warm water. If the soreness is lessened, I do it thrice a day.
- A friend told me about this because she uses one for her kid.
- You can try nonprescription throat lozenges or a decongestant.
I will get back to bed now and try not to turn this sore throat into cough.

Great Tips! I hope you are feeling better soon. Some warm honey works as well.
