Grand chandeliers at home

My mom just loves those grand chandeliers. She had one installed in the living room. She wants another one in their bedroom but my dad isn’t keen on it. So they compromised, my dad always being a pushover when it comes to my mom’s machinations, and they are buying one for the dining room.

I think she got her love for chandeliers from her mom, my grandmother, who also loves it. It’s something she’s always wanted and just able to get it out of my dad. I think he finally gave in after years of being nagged about it.

Lucky with raffle draws

My cousin Vera won a Samsung HDTV in her company’s last anniversary celebration. She is really lucky when it comes to raffle draws. Last year, also during their anniversary celebration, she won a trip for two to a luxury spa outside the city. She gave it to her parents and my uncle and aunt were very happy with it.

We are teasing her that she just might win a brand new car by their company’s next anniversary celebration. And I do think she will!

A taste for fast cars

Ronnie just bought Ferrari parts. He is a neighbor whose hobby is to collect sports car. He has three in his garage and according to him, he has more in the countryside. I remember when we were little kids, he used to own a kart that he raced down the street with his brother. It was no surprise that he developed a taste for fast cars through the years.

I heard from my brother that Ronnie is a professional race car driver. I think it suits his personality and lifestyle.

Weekend dinners

Because it’s summer, I bought outdoor electric grills for my house as well as the parents’ house. We love having visitors for dinner and most weekends, there are relatives coming over for a brief visit. I love entertaining them outside the house, at the patio where I had the grill set up.

This particular weekend, the first in June, three families are going to come over for barbecues and grilled burgers at home. These are relatives who will be coming from abroad. My parents were telling me that the electric grills are perfect for the dinner next weekend.

I agree.

Enterprising cousins

My cousin Rose brought over discount prescription glasses that she bought. She is reselling it for a small amount of profit. She is raising money to buy a car and she’s doing so many businesses at the same time. Mostly buy and sell.

I have too many enterprising cousins. And I must admit I admire all of them. Not just because they’re my relatives but because these are young men and women who really do something to get what they want. They can easily ask their parents for it but they don’t do that. What they do is they create opportunities for themselves and use it as a way to get the things they want the most.

Looked haggard

I was looking at my aunt over dinner last night. She dropped by to have a quick chat with me regarding an investment she made. Family and friends often ask my help regarding investments because that is my expertise. I provide investment consulting services. Of course, for family it’s pro bono. Always have been.

Anyway, my aunt looked haggard. She’s really worried she will lose her money in the investment she made. There are premature wrinkles around her eyes and mouth and a deep crease is forming on her forehead. I thought of giving her prototype 37c so she can eliminate her wrinkles. But I gave her my services first. She is really about to lose her money from a pyramid scam.

Thirty pounds lighter

My brother was telling me that one of the executives of the company he’s working for took a one-month vacation leave and came back looking ten years younger and thirty pounds lighter. She was the topic of the company for months! And the target of affection of most of the single males in the office. It was being whispered in the office that she took diet pills and had the help of a doctor. That’s typical.

I read a lot of diet pills reviews. I just got through the clinislim side effects. I tell you, there are those that promises quick weight loss but don’t deliver and there are those that become really popular out of the blue because it delivered.

The thing is, you just don’t take anything without the help of a medical expert. You really need that. That’s why she was able to pull that quick weight loss.

Hot and humid weather

I don’t get out of the house much lately because of the hot and humid weather. My clients would just call me up, email me or fax documents that I need. But my dad asked my brother to get him the clamps he needs for his garage project and he didn’t deliver. I understand that my brother is really busy with work so I had to take over and get it for him.

I felt like a melted candle wax upon arriving home! My goodness, the weather was really horrible! I am amazed when I saw some people walking under the sun without an umbrella or cap on. I just don’t know how they do it. I was inside the car and yet I could feel beads of perspiration trickling down my back!

A big challenge

It is hard to pull off a quick weight loss. I was able to do it once but since I just love those oily Chinese dishes, I gained it back as quickly as I lost it. You can pull this off, why not? But then it will be a big challenge for you to keep the weight loss permanent. Because trust me, temptation will be beside you every step of the way once you start losing weight.

I’ve been there too many times in the past so I know what I’m talking about here. It is a big struggle especially if you come from a family who loves to prepare a feast-like lunches and dinners.
