Quality time with your family

Spending time with the family does not mean that you are spending quality time with them. You can be physically present but emotionally, mentally, you are far away from them. Quality time means being physically, emotionally and mentally present. It would have to be more than just uttering mono-syllabic replies or watching meaningless tv shows with your family. There should be something more.

This topic just came to mind because I read a post by Lori of a Circle of Life. There are periods of time in our lives that we forget there are people around us who need our attention, our time. We constantly put work before everything else. We forget that work will continue being there even after we lose everything and everyone in our lives.

Stop living for work. Spend time with your family. Quality time where you are physically, emotionally and mentally present.

I read the link you posted and the story is really inspiring. Hope my child does not think of me that way. I would definitely remember to stop whatever I am doing tomorrow when my son wakes up and give him my undivided attention.
