Through thick and thin
One of the things I am thankful for is having girl friends that stood by me through all the good and bad times. One particular friend of mine has been with me since we were in high school. When she heard about my loss, she was beside me, together with my family, to comfort me and give me strength. She did not go home until she made sure I was okay. She asked for an extended leave of absence from work to help my family take care of me and my Anika.
Now that everything’s a little bit normal, she sent me a brochure on the Hilton Head rentals and if I’d like to go with my kids and her family. I am still thinking about it. I know travel will do good for me and my Anika who misses her dad so much. But I am loathe to leave my little boy behind.
