I don't know if I would say I have changed intentionally for my spouse, but I believe my behavior has adjusted for him. Maybe I am quieter in the house because I know he is there. Maybe I am neater. But has he asked me to change my personality or behavior? No.

for me, one can change but not to the extend that you will lose your own identity...

because i believe that if you have been honest with him regarding your excess baggages before, then it is his turn to accept you and love you for who you are.

Love is acceptance.

I have done both, in two separate marriages...I've tried to change to be what my partner wanted/needed and that ended disastrously. In the end, I was miserable and, truth be told, so was he.

Now I am married to a man that I accept wholeheartedly exactly as he is and he does the same for me, no changing on either part is needed or wanted...and this one, I am positive, will last the rest of my life.

I guess what I'm getting at is that when you're with the right person, no changing is required. Acceptance of some things (he leaves his socks on the floor, I fart in my sleep, that kind of stuff) that could be annoyances but the bigger things in life you agree on and compliment each other on.

At least, that's my take on it.

Peace!
